Common questions and doubts
What kind of work can I do as a PADI instructor in Chile?
You can certify students independently anywhere in the world. Or you can work for a PADI dive center certifying its students. These are the most traditional paths for beginner instructors.
Then you can choose an area of specialization, such as underwater photography or technical diving. And thus, dedicate yourself to teaching specific skills to other divers. Read more about job opportunities for dive instructors in Chile.
Can I start teaching immediately after I finish?
No, you still need to take the PADI Instructor Examination. This exam allows PADI to certify that your knowledge meets safe diving standards. The exam date is set by PADI and may vary depending on their schedule.
What is the Instructor Examination (IE)?
The Instructor Examination (IE) is the final exam you must pass to obtain your PADI Instructor certification. It is a rigorous process that evaluates your theoretical knowledge, teaching skills, and ability to manage situations in the water.
PADI examiners administer this evaluation and ensure you meet the standards.
Our training course provides you with all the tools to teach scuba diving independently. If you have a good grasp of these tools and complete our simulation, you will be able to pass the Instructor Examination without any problems.
PADI sets the dates and fees for each exam
What happens if I fail the Instructor Examination (IE)?
If you fail any part of the IE, you will have the opportunity to retake only that section on another date. The process is designed to give you all the opportunities you need to earn your certification. Please note that taking more than one exam usually incurs additional costs and that exam dates are set by PADI examiners.
Can I work anywhere in the world with a PADI Instructor certification?
Yes, one of the biggest advantages of being a PADI Instructor is that your certification is recognized globally. PADI Instructors are valued for their training and experience, which will allow you to work at dive centers anywhere in the world, from the Caribbean to Quintay, Chile.
Do I need my own scuba diving equipment?
It is recommended that you have your own scuba diving equipment, including mask, fins, buoyancy compensator, regulator, and dive computer. However, if you don’t yet have all the equipment, we can help you at our dive center by lending you the appropriate gear during the lessons and exam.
